Comments:  Hi --
Just FYI --
Those people were my relatives.

Isabel died in 1912.
The book went to Edmund Jr., my grandfather, and then to Helen, who died in 1989.
Then to my father.
My father didn't want it and gave it to me -- along with many others of the same nature.

Isabel, who was very religious, died a four-year death. She had a goiter and knew she was going to die. So she inscribed everything she owned, and she wrote letters to her two children, to be opened on their birthdays, for after she died. I think she had enough that for at least ten or fifteen years after she died, my grandfather and great aunt Helen were still opening them. Very sad....

I'm glad you got something out of this...

Comments:  Thank you very much for being willing to share this bit of history with me. Somehow, it's reassuring to know that these people, and something of their stories, are still remembered.
