Comments:  Hey, Johan! Nice to hear from you, and to know you're still reading after all this time. I think I owe you an email, don't I?

Anyway, I certainly don't dislike "One of These Days" at all! I was actually just literally describing what I think, at least, is my typical behavior when I listen to Meddle -- that being, to skip straight to "A Pillow of Winds". But I'm not sure that that's really true, though it may be that I value OotD less because it's such a live staple -- in other words, that I seek out Meddle for the non-album tracks and for "Echoes", which so seldom came off live with the same perfection (to my mind, only the BBC session and the Pompeii and Montreux '71 versions are on anything like the same level). Maybe all this is telling me that I need to pull out Meddle and give it a spin from the beginning!

(Though to tell the truth I find that painful -- nostalgia, and its root words, and memories of my 6th-8th grade years, and how much of a *world* that album used to be to me, "Echoes" especially but "A Pillow of Winds" and "Fearless" too, such a perfect intersection of music/content with recording/acoustic...)
