I kind of dig the 'loose' fluid translations I've read of Latin poetry, especially Catullus. A lot of it isn't that far from the literal translation, as funny as it sounds, at least not more so that traditionally stodgy translations where they try (like in Ovid) to make all the couplets rhyme in English. |
