I can't believe I never caught that before -- thank you for pointing that out! (I don't have the book with me in NH but fortunately the passage is online here.) I'm torn between wanting to cheer about it, and feeling foolish and wanting to "D'oh!" On balance, though, I think I'll pick the former, given that it makes for three major, happy discoveries: (1) Eberhard Weber is indeed a Watership Down fan, or enough of one to name at least four songs and two albums after passages from the book; (2) among those are my favorite Eberhard Weber song and favorite E.W. album; and (3) my own website is named after a passage in one of my favorite books, and I didn't even know it! Still another layer of funny coincidence: at the exact moment you wrote that, I was working on a song called "Captain Campion". Nice catch, man -- thanks again! This discovery makes me happy. |
