Well, my name is Phil, I'm older than 20 and younger than 30, and I'm a music student. What else do you want to know?

Why should anyone care about what you have to say?

I suppose that depends on which thing I'm saying. I've put some things on this site that I thought at least a few people out there might enjoy, like this, but heard nothing back. Other times, I've put things up that I thought no one but myself and a few friends would care about, like this (scroll down to July 27 -- if I include the anchor, it breaks my comment system for some reason), and then have ended up getting loads of interest (that one even got plugged on the radio, believe it or not).

So I can't really predict when and whether people will care, let alone why: I just put things up -- things that, if I'm sticking to my plan for this site, tend to be things one can't find much of anywhere else on the Internet -- and see what happens. If people find some merit or use in what I put up, great; if they don't, that's OK too (if less pleasing). But I'm not really worried about whether or not I have the credentials to be permitted a voice -- these days, I'm more worried about finding the time and energy to write much of anything here at all.

I'm just curious because I can't seem to find a "bio" or "background" page.

There isn't one, really. I suppose I could put one up but (a) this isn't really a site "about me", or at least I don't want it to be one as such, and (b) honestly, I've never had an inquiry quite like yours.

and why all the wesley willis?

Well, I like some of his music a lot, at least in small doses. At his best, he can be very funny ("Cut the Mullet"), moving ("Outburst"), insightful, outrageous...I got to see him play once, a couple years before he died, and I'm glad I did. He was a warm, sincere guy who had a heavy burden to bear, and though a lot of his fans are jackasses, there are also a lot of people who had a real affection for him and his world.

So, who are you? What do you do? What led you to my site? Do you often stop at websites and ask them why anyone should care, etc.?
